Teaching students to use AI as an assistant, not for plagiarism
AI has developed extremely fast and now takes up a large share of daily life — in studying, work, and even as an informal psychologist, manager or lawyer for some people. Universities’ main task should be to teach students how to use AI to improve their knowledge rather than just copy-paste: as a personal assistant that speeds up making presentations, helps write a thesis, or checks essays and generates practice answers before exams. Rather than fighting AI, universities — along with student unions and research circles — should run courses and workshops explaining the difference between using AI as plagiarism and using it as a genuine work assistant, and make sure students use it properly.
We can use AI as an assistant, our personal assistant during our studies.
