About the project

A safe and just space for the university of the future.

💡

Inspiration

The model builds on Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics, which maps a safe and just space for humanity between a social foundation and an ecological ceiling.

🎓

Application at the university

The Academic Doughnut adapts this framework to the realities of higher education. It explores how to make the university of the future sustainable, socially relevant, and welcoming to the whole academic community — students, researchers, and the wider environment.

🧩

Form

The concept is developed through virtual tools, workshops, and thought experiments — for example during Una Europa General Assemblies, held also at the Jagiellonian University.
