Using AI tools ethically and effectively in academia
Regardless of the philosophical debate over whether today’s tools are „true” artificial intelligence or just machine learning, these tools are already widespread across academic life — from Grammarly to finding relevant papers. This is today’s reality. Universities should train students, researchers and academic staff (including professional staff) to use these tools not only efficiently but also ethically, make them available, and show professors that, used properly, they are not just for boring tasks but can boost creativity and intellectual freedom. This revolution is happening now and must be addressed in the academic environment.
When used properly can boost their creativity and also their intellectual freedom.
